United Kingdom’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has performed at Gabala international music festival in Azerbaijan. The Orchestra was accompanied by professor at the Juilliard School of Music in New York City Oksana Yablonskaya and outstanding Azeri conductor Rauf Abdullayev. Conducted by the Festival’s Directors, Dmitry Yablonsky and Farhad Badalbeyli, the Orchestra has performed traditional classical repertoire including works by Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Mendelssohn, Saint-Saëns, Rachmaninov and Beethoven, in addition to masterpieces by Azerbaijani composers Uzeyir Hajibayov and Fikrat Amirov.
In addition to the orchestral series, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s education team will develop a series of workshops for 30 young people living in a local orphanage in Mardakan, Baku.
