Traffic police will take measures in connection with the new academic year starting Wednesday in Azerbaijan, State Traffic Police spokesman Jamshid Hanifayev said.
"The traffic police will work intensively in 11 districts of Baku, especially in the central streets and in front of the school building due to the new school year. Children's safety will be ensured when they go to school," he said.
The State Traffic Police spokesman said road traffic increases at the beginning of the school year.
"The flow of people to the capital increases with the completion of the summer season. A huge number of people come from the regions to begin their studies or return from their summer houses to Baku. If there are problems, we will resolve them. The state traffic police is able to resolve such problems," he said.
The new school year begins in Azerbaijan on Sept. 15.
