Public Association "New Generation of Azerbaijani Youth" has awarded Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva "Votary of Turkic nation". Pashayeva was awarded for services to the Turkic world and activities for its global recognition, Trend reports.
"Although our country has recently gained its independence, Azerbaijan has done much for the Turkic states, the Turkic peoples to become closer to each other, to unit," Pashayeva said speaking at the awarding ceremony.
She spoke about great work done by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev in this direction. Just the result of this work is the fact that the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries (TurkPA) acts in Azerbaijan, Baku hosts the meetings of heads of Turkic countries, the Congress of the Turkic peoples, major forums and meetings of the Turkic Diasporas worldwide at the high level upon the country leadership's initiative.
Pashayeva noted that the President's activities in this area should become a model for each representative of the Azerbaijani youth and the young people should do their best for solidarity and unity of the Turkic world.
She stressed the Turkic nations and peoples should render continued support to each other. MP also spoke about Azerbaijani and Turkic women's activities in an effort to progress the nation and achieve the universal representation in the past and in the present.
Pashayeva stressed that the Azerbaijani First Lady, Heydar Aliyev Foundation President Mehriban Aliyeva, who represents Azerbaijan at the highest level in the world, is an example for young girls and women in the country.
Pashayeva noted that the country's youth should work tirelessly for the development of Azerbaijan and the entire Turkic world, called on them to read and teach the works of the great representatives of the Turkic world, such as Ismail Gasprinskiy, Ali Bey Huseynzade, Zia Gokalp and others.
Along with Pashayeva, the Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic, a former foreign minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the chairman of the Democratic Party Serdar Denktash, Turkish MP Mustafa Kabakchi, Gulshad Tuzmen and Attila Kaya, MPs and the head of the Ataturk Center Nizami Jafarov, MP Ali Huseynov, representatives of the National Council of Youth Organizations, Organization TUSİAB, Azerbaijan Public Television and TRT channel were also awarded.
