Chief of the Foreign Affairs Department at the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration says Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan’s recent remarks are nonsense.
In his interview with ANS TV, Novruz Mammadov said Armeia will fail to achieve its goal to mislead the international community by similar statements.
Delivering a speech at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Boston, Armenian FM Nalbandyan stated that by accepting the Madrid proposals with some reservations Azerbaijan does not actually accept them.
According to Armenian minister, the Madrid document OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs presented to the sides in 2007 was later deposited with the OSCE Secretariat as a formal proposal. The minister noted that Baku has accepted only one of the working proposals with certain exceptions.
"This is nonsense. Nalbandian will fail in his efforts to deceive the international community. The Armenian side makes such claims that no one will agree with them. What do two to three versions mean? Over the last 2 years the negotiations were to bear fruits. Not agreeing with them, they put forward other proposals.
As you know, other suggestions were put forward in Sochi in 2009. One can not agree with this. Armenian foreign minister will not be able to deceive international community with these statements,” Mammadov added.
