The annual International Conference and Exhibition of Information Technologies CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia 2010 starts today in Istanbul, Turkey.
CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia is the largest regional ICT trade fair and Azerbaijan has been closely interested in this exhibition for several years. However, this year the country is represented at the event with a separate pavilion that will enable the country to demonstrate the existing potential of Azerbaijan in the sphere of information and communications technologies (ICT) and promote to attract new technologies to the country.
Azerbaijani delegation, consisting of representatives of public and private sectors, is headed by Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov.
Azerbaijan`s National Pavilion will reflect the latest achievements gained in the field of information communications technologies including projects ongoing in the republic in the given sphere. The draft Trans-Eurasian Super Information Highway (TASIM), initiated by the Government of Azerbaijan and providing more than 20 countries in the region with high-speed information network, will be demonstrated as well.
Besides that, the stands will reflect information about the projects of Regional Innovation Zone and launch of the first national telecommunications satellite of the country into orbit, introduction of ICT in education and other areas.
Besides the public sector, the pavilion will reflect achievements obtained in the sector of private ICT companies in the republic. Azerbaijani delegation includes representatives of more than 10 ICT companies in the country.
The exhibition will run until October 10.
