Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov met Monday with Lithuania's Minister of Transport and Communication Eligijus Masiulis.
Mammadov said development of the transport and road infrastructure in Azerbaijan was driven by rapid economic growth in Azerbaijan. He touched upon Azerbaijan-Lithuania cooperation.
The Lithuanian Minister called for concerted efforts to develop transport cooperation, adding trade turnover between the two countries has been on rise in recent years. The ministers found the need to make transport operations easier, increase cargo traffic and use modern shipping technologies.
The Lithuanian party suggested conducting the first meeting of the intergovernmental joint commission for transport cooperation in Vilnius in early 2011.
