About 2,643,978 square meters of territory was cleared of mines and explosives in Azerbaijan in September, press service of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) said. A total of 2,207 mines and PHS were found and defused in this period. 18 anti-tank and 5 anti-personnel mines were found.
425 experts and 115 assistants, as well as six mine-clearing vehicles and 30 mine-sniffing dogs were involved in the mine actions.
ANAMA cleared 143,900,245 square m so far. 627,407 mines and PHS were found and disarmed. The operations are conducted in the regions of Terter, Aghdam, Fuzuli, Tovuz, Agjabedi, Aghstafa and Samukh, as well as in Garadagh district of Baku City.
One mine/PHS incident was reported in September, 2010.
