A regular meeting of the Technical Committee for Standardization of Information- communication technologies was held on October 22, 2010 under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies, Committee Chairman Elmir Velizade.
The adoption of 4 national standards for information security, developed on the basis of international standards ISO / IEC 27001:2005, ISO / IEC 27005:2008, ISO / IEC 11770-1:1996 and ISO / IEC TR 18044:2004 was the first item on the agenda.
The participants were informed that the standards were discussed and agreed with the relevant bodies at the previous meeting. Standards were brought to vote of the committee members and adopted at the suggestion of Elmir Velizade. It was also agreed to submit the standards to the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patent for state registration.
The head of the Department of Information Society Development of the Ministry Isbandiyar Aliyev informed of the national terminological standards developed in accordance with the Technical Committee`s work plan for 2010.It was underlined that standards put forward for discussion are based on the 7th, 28th and 34th parts of ISO / IEC 2382 standards on IT-terminology and currently, experts are working on verifying compliance with these standards. The meeting participants had an extensive exchange of views on terminology standards.
During the meeting the standards for the ranging of letters of Azerbaijani alphabet on the computer keyboard and other issues regarding the activity of the Technical Committee were discussed and corresponding decisions were adopted.
