A new version of "Code of professional ethics of Azerbaijani journalists" will be discussed at the12th meeting of the Alliance of Independent Press Councils of Europe (AIPCE), the Azerbaijani Press Council reported.
Press Council Chairman Aflatun Amashov will participate in the event. The event will be held in Amsterdam on Nov. 4-5. The congress will hear reports by the Press Councils of more than 30 countries and exchange views on issues of similarities and differences in the activities of these structures.
The agenda also includes discussions related to the issues of the media-citizen relations, issues of pluralism, the subject of advice on media and online journalism, as well as on the observance of the principles of professional work in the articles posted in the online editions.
The Press Council has started the discussion on the latter issue, the activities of one of the sites were considered as an example. The changes to the Code of professional ethics of Azerbaijani journalists have been made on the basis of European values.
