Over 70 new subway stations are planned be built in Baku as part of the “Plan on future development of the Baku Metro for the next 20 years” by 2040. In particular, the new Baku subway station will be built next to the Heydar Aliyev Palace, Heydar Aliyev Sports Complex and other public facilities.
"We must create conditions so that residents and guests of the capital can ride the subway to public facilities. Therefore, the “Plan on future development of the Baku Metro for the next 20 years” provides for the construction of new metro stations near popular public facilities and densely populated residential neighborhoods,” Baku Metro Chief Tagi Ahmadov said at an event marking the Day of Baku Metro Workers on Wednesday.
“It will help to partially resolve the problem of busy roads in center and in other parts of Baku,” Ahmadov added.
