A great majority of the Finnish-type settlements will be demolished in Azerbaijan next year.

Director of the International Relations, Information, Press Service Department of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs Senan Huseynov told APA that all the Finnish-type settlements will be demolished in the country by 2013.

According to him, 3 of the 16 Finnish-type settlements have already been demolished.

“Land plots are being allocated for building new settlements. Land plot has already been allocated in Imishli to build a new settlement for the IDPs. Land plots have also been allocated in Aghjabadi and Shaki, the design work has been completed,” he said.

According to Huseynov, new settlements will be built for the IDPs in the territories, where they have settled.

“The issue of employment is being taken into consideration while settling the IDPs. The majority of the IDPs settled in these regions long ago, they are working there. New settlements are built in the regions, where they have settled, so that they continue working there,” he said.
