The Baku-Moscow-Baku and Moscow-Baku-Moscow flights, delayed yesterday, are implemented in phases, the Heydar Aliyev International Airport said.
"The situation is gradually improving. The issue of the delayed flights is being gradually resolved," a representative of the airport said. The Baku-Moscow flights are returning to their routine status. "The arrivals and departures are restored in this direction", a representative added.
In particular, the flights delayed yesterday were in the direction of Baku-Moscow, made by airlines AZAL, VIM-Avia, Ural Airlines and Aeroflot.
Weather conditions caused massive flight delays. As a result, hundreds of flights were canceled.
According to the Russian media, at the airport "Sheremetyevo", Aeroflot delayed 57 flights per night. Roughly 51 aircrafts left the airport. The situation also remains tense in "Domodedovo". Alexander Neradko, the head of Rosaviation, told ITAR-TASS that plans are in the works to make 350 flights per day from this airport, 100 of which were delayed on December 26-27.
