“The Azerbaijani Diaspora has already entered the new and qualitative working phase. The Diaspora organizations are using new methods to inform the world about the problems of Azerbaijan. We highly appreciate the activity of Diaspora organizations in the assertive information war we started”, said chairman of the State Committee for Diaspora Activities Nazim Ibrahimov.
He said there are more than 370 Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations in the world. “They are working for solution of the problems of their homeland and Azerbaijanis living abroad. The committee members visited Moscow to hold a meeting of Diaspora organizations and to learn what happened there. The Congress of Russian Azerbaijanis took measures for prevention of any negative action against the Azerbaijanis.”
The committee chairman spoke about the situation of Azerbaijanis in Georgia. “The government funds the Georgian language courses for Azerbaijani students in the secondary schools. This year 540 Azerbaijanis enrolled for the Georgian universities. 20 Azerbaijani students were sent to the Northern Cyprus to get education at the Near East University. They will return to Georgia and take positions in the government agencies”.
