Information and Cooperation Network of the Non-Governmental Organizations against Corruption monitored the winter exams at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) on January 17.
Professor Samad Seyidov, rector of AUL, Member of Parliament, Alimammad Nuriyev, a coordinator of the Information and Cooperation Network of the Non-Governmental Organizations against corruption, Vasif Movsumov, an executive director of the Fund against Corruption and Ahmad Abbasbayli, Head of the Public relations and Society Progress of the above mentioned Network were present at the monitoring process.
Seyidov gave information about the exams at the University and the exams held in the Foreign language and Country Study of the Translation School. He said that the exams were conducted in transparent, honest and objective conditions and the University is always open for the monitorings by public organizations. He added that checking the results of the exams directly after the exams creates some problems and causes unsatisfactory results.
He spoke of the world practice regarding the assessment of the exam results and pointed out the importance of mutual understanding between teachers and students. “Any teacher and student should know his/her rights, so no argument will arise between them,” Seyidov added. Coordinator Alimammad Nuriyev gave information about the activities of the Information and Cooperation Network of the Non-Governmental Organizations against Corruption to the students and added that monitorings are observed in different educational institutions. “These monitorings serve for objectiveness of the exams and are of great significance in determining the right position of given complaints,” Nuriyev said.
He emphasized the importance of applying to them, as well. The members of the Network looked through the exam tests. Nuriyev expressed his deep gratitude to Samad Seyidov for the condition he had created for the monitorings at the University.
The students expressed their satisfaction about the exams and the necessary conditions created for them.
At the end of the monitoring relevant suggestions and complaints boxes were opened with the participation of the members of Operative Headquarters headed by Lyudmila Muradova, Head of the Educational department and the deans of the School of the French language, School of the German language, Schools of the English language No1 and 2 of AUL.
