Delegations led by Azeri Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov, Georgian Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Ramaz NikolaishviliTurkish Minister of Transport Binali Yildirim attend the meeting.

Nikolaishvili says Azerbaijani and Turkish Transport Ministers have met with Georgian PM Nika Gilauri, today: “At 16:00 they will meet with President Mikhael Saakashvili. Saakashvili will answer all questions about Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railwat project. We – ministers promised to one another to open this way together. I hope that, we’ll able to do that, successfully”.

Head of Marabda-Kartsaxi LLC Bdzina Breqvadze noted that, the works in 14 km-Akhalkalaki-Kartsakhi railway were being conducted: “Construction works in Tetritskaro and Tsalka have been finished”.

According to representative of Turkish Transport Minister, $ 100 mln was spent in the construction of 76 km-railway and more $ 100 mln will be spent again, this year: “We have some problems which one of them is gabarit problem. There are 232 tunnels with total length 51 km in Turkey. It may be difficult for wagons of Azerbaijan and Georgia during crossing through these tunnels. That’s why the wagons must be accorded to to the European standards”.

Turkish Transport MInister Binali Yildirim says that this modern Sil Way will merge our cultures, East and West.

Azeri Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov told that, the Azerbaijani President had allocated $ 1 bln to reconstruction of railway system in accordance to the State Program on development of Railway Transport System in Azerbaijan: “Azerbaijan has allocated $ 200 mln for accelerating of works on BTK project. Financial aid was granted for 25 years in 1 percent”.
