The Joint-Stock Company Azerkosmos passed the state registration at the Azerbaijani Taxes Ministry through a "single window" system, the structure reported.
The Company was registered on Feb. 7 with the charter capital of 40 million (at nominal value of each share at 20 manat). President of the Azerkosmos is Rashad Nabiyev, who previously headed the department of finance, accounting and economic analysis of the Communications and IT Ministry.
The Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers approved a charter and structure of the open joint stock company "Azerkosmos", whose shares are owned by the state in December 2010.
According to the charter, the main goal of the JSC will be conduction of works on launching the Azerbaijani satellite into orbit, its management and operation, as well as providing satellite communications services (Internet services, television and radio broadcasting, photographing, navigation services etc.).
Executive staff of the JSC will consist of three persons (JSC chairman and two deputies). Chairman is appointed by the president, and the Communications and IT Ministry received the right to appoint deputies.
The establishment of "Azerkosmos" will be the basis for Azerbaijan’s entrance to the international space market. The main goal is the creation of a framework for the formation and use of outer space for peaceful and commercial purposes.
