Armaments, previously not encountered in the republic have been revealed during the operations carried out in the territory of military base of former soviet army located in Guzdak settlement of Garadagh district, Baku city. Supervisor of special Operation group conducting cleaning works in Guzdak military unit of Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) Fuzuli Namazov said.

According to him, these armaments are differing with their specificity and had been considered especially for diversion operations: "There, we are revealing armaments, that previously were not encountered anywhere. And it hampers the works, increases the danger. There are mainly C4 explosives".

ANAMA representative said that cleaning works carried out in 18 military bases from 22 blasted military bases during soviet period. Works are continued in 4 depots. The armaments are extracted from the under of depots’ walls by special tools, remote controlled robots, taken to explosion area and annihilated. 1 434 163 sq.m territory of the base was cleaned so far, 10 852 mines and UXOs rendered harmless. It is considered to finish cleaning works until the end of the year.

Note that, soviet army blasted Guzdak military base while leaving Azerbaijan. The military base was considered for special operations. During USSR, professionals of special forces of some socialist countries of the Middle East were prepared there.
