Azerbaijanis living and working in Russia will join at trade unions, Chairman of Trade Union Confederation Sattar Mehbaliyev said.
To him, according to agreement signed between Trade Union Confederation and Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia, trade unions will be established for Azerbaijanis working in Yekaterinburg city of Russia’s Sverdlovsk region: "The purpose is to protect social and labor rights of Azerbaijanis living there".
According to agreement, the organization will be provided with free office. In turn, during initial periods, each month Azerbaijani side will pay AZN 1000-1200 to workers of organization: "We will help them until they provide financial sources".
Note that, such agreement is the first in Caucasus countries. To him, General Collective Agreement signed between Russian trade unions and Russian government will be concerned new organization: "That is, their rights will be protected as rights of Russian citizens".
Besides, they will be able to take part in elections to State Duma.
"On the other hand, establishment of such organizations will help to prevent human trafficking and compulsory labor. Consequently, if Azerbaijani citizens is taken to foreign country by way of seducing, he/she will address trade unions and receive legal aid at the expense of those unions", said Mehbaliyev.
He said that such agreements will be signed with other countries where Azerbaijanis live closely – other regions of Russia, Tumen, St. Petersburg, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Turkey.
