The international contest in rhythmic gymnastics has been held in Kiev. According to the news service for the Gymnastics Federation of Azerbaijan, our young sportsmen won seven awards, including four of silver shade.
15-year-old Bahar Asgarova took the second place in all-round events and contested in two finals, where she became the best with clubs-fourth place. Zohra Agamirova, born in 2001, also became second in all-round events and won bronze with a ball.
The third silver in all-round events is taken by eight-year-old Arzu Jalilova, her peer Zarniyar Aliyeva won bronze in this program and silver with a rope, and another teammate Zarifa Bashirova is third with a ball.
According to coach of the gymnasts Nurjahan Asgarova, in period when the whole Kiev lives with the upcoming start of Euro-2012 in football, the real lovers of this gracious sport filled the hall of contest for the entire weekend. “And I have to say that each entry to the arena, each successful performance, especially ours, was welcomed with ovation”, she said.
