Local reports said Argentina's football legend Maradona was negotiating a coaching contract with the Iraqi national team on Thursday,  Xinhua reported

Hernan Tofoni, an agent for World Eleven, told the website canchallena.com, "We received the offer and contacted Diego, who accepted it. The executive committee of the Iraqi Football Federation is to meet on Friday to confirm the financial terms of the deal."

World Eleven, which also manages the international activities of the Argentinean national team, was asked to facilitate the agreement.

Maradona, 52, is also manager of the football federation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Dubai. He negotiated how he can balance both jobs.

 
Maradona's last coaching job was of Al Wasl in the UAE. He was sacked as Argentine national coach after they exited the 2010 World Cup in South Africa in the quarter finals.
