Northwest Federal District, Russia hosted the hand-to–hand Cossacks fighting championship, the Azerbaijani Diaspora activist in Murmansk city Alihuseyn Shukurov said.
The competitions were held among the teenagers in Apatity, Rev, Kirovsk, Monchegorsk, Sankt-Petersburg and Leningrad oblasts of the Russian Federation.
As is reported, Azerbaijani compatriot Eldar Huseynov gained gold medal in hand-on-hand Cossacks fighting.
The Chairman of Executive Committee, honorary guest and curator of the St. Petersburg tournament, president of the International Martial Arts Confederation and International Martial Arts Club (IMAC), President and founder of Federation Kobudo of Saint-Petersburg, Nikolai Smirnov spoke about their future plans. He said that the competition would involve participants also from Scandinavian countries.
