The biggest conference of Europe “Day of History” is underway in Berlin.
The conference that opened on September 28 has been organized jointly with German Historians Union, teachers of history of Germany and Humboldt University.
More than 3000 European historians and scientists participated in the conference. German Chancellor Angela Merkel attended the opening ceremony of the event held at Berlin Congress Center and delivered a speech. Berlin’s State Secretary of Culture André Schmitz called Berlin as the “Mecca of craftsmen and scientists”.
Director of Germany-based Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Azerbaijani Culture, researcher Nourida Ateshi attended the conference as well. Within the framework of the conference Ateshi thanked the President of the Humboldt University, Professor Christoph Markschies for his support to teaching of Azerbaijani history at the Humboldt University.
Note that, Azerbaijani history will be taught at the Humboldt University within the next 5 years. “Special guest professor” post has been appointed for this purpose. Ateshi wished the establishment of research sphere that may contribute to Azerbaijani history and culture at the Humboldt University.
