U.S. Ambassador to Armenia: "Information escape undesirable"

03 February 2006 [16:39] - TODAY.AZ
U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Evans considers escape of information during the talks over the Nagorno Karabakh conflict to be undesirable.

He stated it when commenting to PanARMENIAN.Net reporter on the unwillingness of the OSCE MG Co-chairs to meet with journalists in Baku and Yerevan. "The U.S. Embassy does not comment on issues of the kind, nevertheless I will say that secrecy is fully justified in this case. The visit of the Co-chairs to the region was the last before the meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents in Rambouillet. The issues discussed at such kind of meetings are secret and escape of information is undesirable," John Evans said.

To remind, February 2 the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs Steven Mann (U.S.), Bernard Fassier (France) and Yuri Merzlyakov (Russia) arrived in Yerevan from Baku. The mediators did not meet with press either in Azerbaijan or Armenia.
