17 September 2006 [02:03] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan National Independence Party (ANIP) concluded a five-item cooperation agreement with the South Azerbaijan Independence Party (SAIP).

ANIP leader Ayaz Rustamov addressing the ceremony said the parties will make joint efforts to defend the rights of Azerbaijanis all over the world, will take actions against Iranian regime's chauvinist policy towards ethnic Azerbaijanis and achieve in the national movement's winning victory in South Azerbaijan.

SAIP leader Saleh Ildirim said the party headquartered in Canada has been just established. He talked about the priorities and political aim of the party.

"The party's target is to achieve independence of South Azerbaijan. Because, we do not believe Farsi Iran will be democratic. Farsi regime has been pursuing assimilation policy against Azeri Turks and non-Iranians for 90 years. We'll prevent this. We worked jointly with Diaspora organizations and believe ANIP will support us in this case. We are functioning secretly in Iran due to known reasons," he said.
