"Garadagh" Cement rebuffs reports on non-payment of taxes to public budget

18 May 2005 [21:20] - TODAY.AZ
"Garadagh" Cement LTD has rebuffed the local media reports on non-payment of taxes to the public budget by the company, Trend reports.
In his exclusive interview with Trend Uwe Koehler, the chairman of the Managing Board of Garadagh Cement said that it was correct that since February this year the tax authorities were carrying out a tax audit in "Garadagh" Cement.  But there is no official audit report in this respect," he underscored. "I do not know who the source of this rumor is. To my knowledge there are no such findings by the tax auditors. As long as there is no official audit report, any comments in this respect would be incorrect," Koehler stressed.

Koehler noted that the company was fully cooperating with the tax auditors. "Garadagh" "Cement has fulfilled its obligations towards the state budget according to the tax code and belongs to the largest taxpayers in the country," he underlined.

The same time he noted that if the audit findings would actually require any adjustments, the company would immediately make these corrections.

Meanwhile, the Taxes Ministry confirmed the fact of tax audit in the 'Garadagh' Cement, but avoided to make comments on the issue until full completion of the process.
