An international conference on liberalization of energy and its distribution will be held in Baku, Husseyn Arabul, the President of Barmek Azerbaycan, told Trend.
According to Arabul, the forum will be held as part of events the company plans to organize from 9 to 11 September. "A Turkish delegation of 15 MPs, representatives of the Turkish Energy Ministry, energy bodies, and entrepreneurs will arrive in Baku. A permanent parliamentary commission on natural resources, energy and ecology, the Ministry of Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Economic Development," Arabul noted. Besides, the Turkish Energy Ministry, Hilmi Guler, is also expected to attend the forum.

The key objective of the conference is to discuss the privatization and liberalization of the energy sector. "At present it is planned to submit a draft law on state regulation of the communal services". It is planned to hold discussions prior to the consideration of the bill,” he said.

The President of the company said that the conference also targets familiarity with the experience of Barmek Azerbaycan, as Turkey has not applied a practice of presenting the energy distributing network to long-term management. A tender on privatization will be held in October,” he underlined.

Arabul said that the conference was held with support of the permanent parliamentary commission on natural resources, energy and ecology, the Ministry of Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Economic Development, and the Turkish embassy in Baku.

The Turkish delegation will visit Baku on 9 September. "The same day will attend an opening ceremony of the building of the Client Services. The next day it is planned to commission the Khazri-Siyazan electricity transmission, a sub-station in Siyazan, sub-stations in Mashtaga and Mardakan.
