Hard times for exchange booths are about to start in Azerbaijan

The National Bank of Azerbaijan will harden requirements for operation of currency exchange booths. The chairman of the Administrative Board of the National Bank Elman Rustamov stated that the main reason for doing so is an attempt to avoid currency shortage as it was in September.

"The process of complete restructuring currency exchange stations is on at present. Several requirements were put forward in this connection by the bank. Normative documents are already ready and were presented to me. The goal of it is to prevent the repeat of the known September events in future," said Rustamov.

It should be noted that a serious shortage of dollar currency occurred in Azerbaijan in September of 2005.
