Shipping in seaports increase 8.8%

As compared to the same period last year, the shipping operations in the Azerbaijani seaports increased by 8.8% in January-March 2006 to 1.8 million tons.

According to the State Statistics Committee, freight in transit accounted for 81% of the overall work done with the volume of freight imported rising 2.4 times and freight exported increasing 3.5 times, AzerTag reports.
