Kazakhstan Culture Days open in Baku

The Kazakhstan Culture Days have solemnly opened at the Azerbaijan State Musical Theatre on April 12.

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Adalat Valiyev, addressing the event, said that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are successfully developing in various fields, including in culture.

The ever-expanding political, economic and cultural ties contribute to further strengthening of relations between the two countries, he added.

Valiyev stressed that the Kazakhstan Culture Days are being held in Azerbaijan for the first time. This event is a great opportunity for creative and cultural exchange.

Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have close cultural ties. For many decades, Azerbaijani art masters have taken part in many music, folk, theatre festivals held in Kazakhstan, while Kazakh artists participated in opera and ballet performances at the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. Besides, Kazakh directors have staged several performances in national theatres. 

In his speech, Kazakh Ambassador to Azerbaijan Beibit Isabayev noted that the events within the Culture Days will also be held in Shaki.

The diplomat stressed that the Days will contribute to strengthening of cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries and will allow to get acquainted with the rich culture of Kazakhstan.

The ambassador expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Culture and akimat (local government) of Kyzylorda region of Kazakhstan, International organization of Turkic culture (TURKSOY) for its support in holding of the event.

Secretary of the Regional Maslikhat Nauryzbai Baikadamov underlined that event program is very interesting and varied, stressing that the Days provide an opportunity to get acquainted with Kazakh culture and art.

Next, guests enjoyed wonderful concert with participation of soloists of the Kyzylorda Philharmonic. The performances by singers, musicians and dancers created an extraordinary atmosphere in the evening, while each performance was followed by thunderous applause.

During the Days, the Kyzylorda regional Music and Drama Theatre will present a theatrical performance "Don't leave! All, don't leave..." based on "A Story about the Botanist-Doctor Monsieur Jordan and the Famous Sorcerer Dervish Mastali Shah" by famous Azerbaijani writer Mirza Fatali Akhundov.
