Azerbaijan's Agjabadi region hosted its first-ever animal exhibition today near Ranjbarlar village, according to Agro Information Centre, AIM-Azerbaijan. Animals bred through artificial insemination were demonstrated at the exhibition.
The exhibition was held as part of the Swiss government-funded “Rural Development Project” implemented by the Agro Information Center and Swiss company HEKS.
The event aimed to highlight advantageous of breeding animals through artificial insemination. Eexhibition visitors were told that artificial insemination prevents diseases passed on during natural insemination. Visitors have instituted encouraging awards to promote interest to artificial insemination.
The animal exhibition was attended by representatives of the Azerbaijan Cabinet of Ministers, local authorities, local and international organizations, Artificial Insemination Association, veterinary laboratories and offices and farmer and agriculture experts. A similar event will be held next in Beylagan region.
