On November 9, a Mi-8 helicopter from Kazakhstan's Ministry of Defense made a hard landing near the village of Saryzhar in the Aktobe region during a training exercise, Azernews reports via the Kazakh media.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the helicopter, operated by the Military Institute of the Air Defense Forces, was carrying three crew members at the time of the incident. Two crew members sustained injuries and were promptly transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, one crew member lost their life.
Preliminary reports suggest a technical malfunction as the likely cause of the incident. An interdepartmental task force is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the event.
