Georgian president nominates candidates to three vacancies at CEC

Georgian president's parliamentary secretary has nominated two candidates for each of three vacancies at the Georgian Central Election Commission on Jan. 12.
Zurab Dekanoidze said to the first vacant position the president has nominated Tamaz Sharmanashvili and Zurab Lomidze, to the second - Gizo Mchedlidze and Zaal Zaalishvili and to the third - Konstantine Kervalidze and Mevlud Kukhianidze.

The six candidates have been nominated at the session of the parliament bureau.

The parliament will approve three new members of the CEC at the special session of the parliament on Jan. 15.

The president selected the six candidates out of the 41, who submitted applications to the president`s administration.

The three positions at the CEC turned our vacant after the parliament adopted amendments to the electoral code.
