Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has called to boost cooperation between Turkey, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Participating in an economic forum meeting between the three countries in Istanbul on Monday, Davutoglu said Turkey, Pakistan and Afghanistan had deep-rooted cultural and psychological relations, adding that the three countries shared a common future.
Davutoglu said Monday's forum was held to give a response to "a security risk against terrorism and violence", adding that the forum had gained new dimensions to it
such as economic and social relations.
Davutoglu said the forum's main theme this year was education and that education ministers of the three countries had also gathered to devise ways for cooperation.
"Security and peace are possible only when economic development is achieved. There are economic dependency between countries in the world and we want to see that Pakistan and Afghanistan become economically dependent on each-other," Davutoglu said.
Davutoglu said he had discussed with Pakistani official about launching regular train fares between Istanbul and Islamabad, which he said would connect Asian economies to European economies.
