Tens of merchants strike in Georgia

01 February 2010 [18:04] - TODAY.AZ
Tens of merchants of Vagzal Square markets and supermarkets in Georgia are on strike from this morning.
They refuse to serve clients and sell products.

The merchants say the protest is related to amendments made to the Tax Code, which are to come into force today.

Namely, according to the amendments, a merchant is obliged to issue an invoice for each sold product.

Otherwise, merchants will be fined with GEL 1,000 for the first time, and with GEL 10,000 for repeated cases.

Besides, the merchants are going to organize a warning strike in front of the Parliament on Feb. 2.
