Higher gas prices will lead to slower economic growth in Armenia in 2010, Manuk Hergnyan, chairman of Economy and Values research center, told a press conference.
According to him, earlier, when Armenia's gas prices tripled, the consumer price index increased by 4 percentage points.
According to him, there are case studies of Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian economies.
On average, the changes in gas prices may bring 5-percent change in GDP, he said.
Hergnyan went on saying that higher gas prices could lead to an increased inflationary pressure.
