The Baku City State Traffic Police Office reported that the police would tighten security measures on May 10-31 in Baku in connection with the Eurovision 2012 Song Contest.
State Central Traffic Police Department spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Vagif Asadov said that
the traffic movement will be be restricted with intervals in the parts of the capital’s administrative territory, in particular by getting under control the streets and roads adjacent to the contest’s venue. The trucks will not be allowed to enter the city.
Moreover, parking will restricted on the streets of U.Hajibeyov, Zarifa Aliyeva, Neftchilar Avenue, Rasul Rza, Niyazi, R.Beybutov, Fizuli, Bulbul Avenue and other streets and avenues. Asadov said that all these measures aimed ensuring security of foreign guests during the contest.
