01 December 2005 [14:18] - TODAY.AZ
On November 30, representatives from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and United Methodist Committee on Relief (UNCOR) gathered at 6 p.m. at the refugee clinic supervised by UNHCR and UMCOR to mark a donation of medical items by SDC to the clinic.

Donated items such as medical gloves, linens, aprons as well as a mobile surgical unit (surgical table, surgery lamp, and anesthesiology devise) and a dental chair, will be passed to UMCOR, the UNHCR’s implementing partner that will distribute the donated equipment among the Refugee Medical Clinic, state polyclinic no. 8, Maternity Home no. 5 and IDP settlements.

According to Victoria Talishkhanova UNHCR’s staff member: "SDC has been our major and long time-partner providing continuous funding for our health and psychological rehabilitation programs as well as vocational training endeavors". Talishkhanova noted that the donation will bring a positive change to the medical project UNHCR carries out for refugees and asylum seekers and IDPs.
