Ramil Safarov’s trial to be held tomorrow

17 January 2006 [06:10] - TODAY.AZ
Trial of Azerbaijani Army Ramil Safarov accused of murder of Armenian officer Gurgen Markaryan will be held on claims raised against him by jailers. Representatives of embassy of Azerbaijan in Hungary will attend the trial.

As APA reports informed by the embassy, newly retained Hungarian lawyer Clara Fisher will defend R.Safarov over this case in the trial.

It should be noted that jailers asked Ramil Safarov for a phone card on June 19, 2004. Ramil Safarov didn’t understand them because of not knowing Hungarian and this caused a row between them.

As a result, 8 police tied his arms and exercised use against him. After this happening, Ramil Safarov’s lawyers filed an appeal to the court, but the court saying there is not any evidence, didn’t consider it. Opposite side saying Azerbaijani officer put up resistance against authority representative and raised counterclaim.
