Serious changes to be made to the bill "On education"

Chairman of Science and Education standing commission of MM Shamsaddin Hajiyev told that new bill would differ from the former one, APA reports.

Commission members will add their proposes on postgraduate education, election of the rectors and so on. Commission is working on this at present. The draft law will be discussed in the commission and in MM in February.

Commission chief said that some changes had been made to the education system since 2000 and Azerbaijan joined Bologna process. But these are not reflected in the bill.

"The bill should be appropriate to Bologna system. We have joined Bologna process, items in it has to be reflected in the bill. The bill should be improved, renewed and should meet modern demands. Substantial changes have to be made to the economy of the education".

S.Hajiyev said that although much had been done in education field, problems still exist: "Expecting these problems will be eliminated through adopting of the bill "On education" is not correct".

S.Hajiyev said that it's not true to cast shadow on the work done up to now.
