US experts visited Influenza and Sharp Respiratory Virus Infection Center to control the measures taken against Bird flu

Delegation of US Center for Disease Control (CDC) visiting Azerbaijan went to Influenza and Sharp Respiratory Virus Infection Center in order to acquaint themselves with measures taken to prevent spread of Bird flu.

As APA reports, center expert Rey Arthur said that the goal of their visit was both to assess the situation related to Bird flu and to help preventing it. The guest has come to Azerbaijan from Turkey will visit Georgia and Armenia afterward.

Expert in resuscitation of the center Farhad Mammadov said that nobody had been infected with Bird flu in Azerbaijan. But, if there is such case, the patient can be hospitalized here: "This center is ready to admit 30 sick people infected with Bird flu. Intensive ward was also set up for serious sick people. Artificial respiration appliances and other equipments were installed for treatment to the patient. These equipments were made in Russia, Germany and Turkey. The center was also fit out with all necessary medicines".

Expert in resuscitation noted that if the disease spread large territory in Azerbaijan, measures would be enlarged: "Ministry of Health is able to take measures".

The head doctor of the Center Mahabbat Ibrahimova said that they began to hold trainings for medics of emergency aid services.
