The second half of Linares-2006 chess tournament started in Spain.

Eight of the top chess players in the world, including Azerbaijani chess player Teymour Rajabov joined the competition.

Peter Leko (Hungary) shared scores with Spanish Francisko Vallejo. The World Champion Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria) won against Russian Peter Svidler with white.

French Ettienne Bacrot gained his first victory over Vassily Ivanchuk.

Rajabov played against his Armenian opponent Levon Aronyan who defeated him in the first half of the tournament. Our compatriot played with white, but could not gain the victory.

"I think Teymour should not be satisfied with the result. His opponent was able to escape from the failure. What a pity! It is Rajabov's fault," Russian chess player Sergei Shipov told while commenting the result.

Leko with 5.5 points is the leader in the draw after eight halves. Aronyan comes second with 5 points. Rajabov and Svidler share the third and fourth places with 4 points.

Rajabov will play against Leko with white in the next game.
