Military Prosecutor: "Desertion facts decreased dramatically"

Republic Military Prosecutor Khanlar Valiyev told journalists that according to the results of last and this year, desertion facts in the Armed Forces have sharply decreased.

Desertion constituted only 5% among military crimes last year. Crimes on the unauthorized regulations and evasion from conscription comprised 22-25%, APA informs.

Mr. Valiyev said that measures are taken to prevent corruption in the Armed Forces. He didn't rule out that corruption is mainly observed in the military registration offices.

"Corruption exists not only in registration offices but also in other structures of the Armed Forces. Fight was strengthened in this field last year. Last year Prosecutor's Office disclosed bribery facts 10 times as much as the previous years."
