Protocol on Azerbaijani and Turkey Diasporas' activity signed

Yesterday in Anatalia city of Turkey with participation of Azerbaijani and Turkey Diaspora organizations conference held on formation of joint Diaspora organizations strategy.

APA reports that making an opening speech in the measure State Committee chief for Work with Azerbaijanis Living Abroad, Nazim Ibrahimov spoke of the significance of this work, and stated impossibility of one nations' having two Diaspora.

He stated that Azerbaijan and Turkey state leaders, diplomatic corpses and citizens of both countries have always had joint activity, Diaspora organization needs the activity like that. Turkey Grand National Assembly members—Shaban Dishli and Yujel Artantash spoke of the importance of Azerbaijan and Turkey Diaspora organizations jointly.

President's Office social-political bureau department chief Ali Hasanov stated that Azerbaijan and Turkey state and government leaders have always spoke of the same position, stressed the attitude of both state leaders to Nagorno Karabakh and North Cyprus conflict.

Turkey and Azerbaijan Diaspora leaders, intellectuals made speeches in the measure after which protocol on joint activity strategy plan of Turkey and Azerbaijan was brought to the attention. The protocol considers establishing of working group for organizing joint Diaspora, establishing of relations, study of Turkey and Azerbaijan Diaspora organizations, establishing of mutual relations, principals on study of joint strategy plan within 6 months, have reflected in the protocol.

In the first half of 2007, holding of Turkish Azerbaijan Diaspora Forum and in that measure adoption of document related to joint strategy has been taken into consideration. Then signing ceremony of protocols was held. Azerbaijan and Turkey Diaspora's 34 community leaders signed this document. Protocol is open for signing.

Film by Etibar Babayev "We are Azerbaijanis" and a book dedicated to World Azerbaijanis II congress, were presented within measures held in Antalia.
