1.981.895 sq. meters of Azerbaijan's territories cleared from mines and UXO last month

The National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) informs that the mine clearance involved 25 specially trained dogs, 156 field-engineers, 47 UXO operators, 8 paramedics and about 100 assistants and four mine-clearing machines.

As APA reports, 27.299.248 sq. meters of territories have been cleared so far. 17,650 mines and UXO were detected and disarmed. 205.705 sq. meters of areas were cleared by mechanical way in May.

No mine and UXO explosions occurred last month. 48 people have been killed and 108 were wounded in 77 mine explosions since September 2001.
