The first forum of Azerbaijani youth studying and living in Europe will be held in Strasbourg on May 27-28. The Forum which will be organized in the Council of Europe head office will be dedicated to the 92nd anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the Forum of Azerbaijani Citizens in Europe (FACE) reported.
The forum will bring together Azerbaijani youth from France, England, Germany, Turkey, Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Russia and many other countries.
Representatives of a number of international organizations like COJEP, AFGES, UDEES, AEGEE will also participate.
The forum will focus on the role the Azerbaijani Democratic Republic, which was founded 92 ago, occupies in the history, its impact on the ideal of Azerbaijanism, France-Azerbaijan relations, cooperation with the CoE, influence of the Azerbaijani youth in Europe, lobbying activities, taking more organized and professional steps abroad, networking and many other issues.
CoE Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland, CoE Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammerberg, CoE Director General for Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Gabriella Batayani Dragoni, Azerbaijani ambassador to France Elchin Amirbayov and head of Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representation to the Council of Europe Arif Mammadov are expected to attend plenary session of the forum.
The founding meeting of the Forum of Azerbaijani citizens in Europe will be held on the second day of the forum. The regulations of the forum will be put for vote and membership policies will be determined.
The Forum of Azerbaijani citizens in Europe aims at synthesis of European and Azerbaijani values, promoting democratic values and human rights in Azerbaijan and protecting Azerbaijan’s national interests abroad at a proper level.
Furthermore, Forum of Azerbaijani citizens in Europe will mark a new stage in professional lobbying of Azerbaijan in Europe.
