FIFA, UEFA Presidents inaugurate stadium in Baku

The Dalga Arena Stadium and a subsidiary stadium constructed by the Azerbaijani Football Federations Association (AFFA) in the Mardakan settlement opened today as a part of the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijani football.

The presidents of FIFA, UEFA and AFFA, Joseph Blatter, Michel Platini and Rovnag Abdullayev, cut the red ribbon.

They then familiarized themselves with the conditions created at the main and subsidiary stadiums.

Blatter said he will visit Azerbaijan again in 2012 to attend the U-17 Women’s Football Championship.

Construction of the Dalga Arena Stadium was launched on April 24 in 2010. The stadium has 6,500 seats.
