Chess masters gather in Poland

The European Chess Championship has kicked off in the city of Legnica, Poland, with Azerbaijan represented by nine players.

Azerbaijan`s squad includes Rauf Mammadov, Gadir Huseynov, Vasif Durarbayli, Azer Mirzayev,
Eltaj Safarli, Kanan Izzet, Nijat Mammadov, Zaur Mammadov and Bahruz Rzayev.

The championship brings together 286 chess players from 38 countries.

The tournament will feature 11 rounds.
