Russian Federation Council Chairman Sergei Mironov came to Baku

Yesterday delegation headed by Chairman of Russian Federation Council Sergei Mironov has come to Baku for two-day visit.
At the Heydar Aliyev Airport the guest was met by the first deputy chairman of Milli Majlis (parliament) Arif Rahimzade, advocate for charge daffier of Russia in Azerbaijan Pyotr Burdkin, MM deputy Mikhail Zabelin, members of MM, associates of the Embassy.

Sergei Mironov told the journalists at the airport that, his visit is businesslike. He will discuss bilateral relations, especially interparlamentary with his counterpart Murtuz Aleskerov. According to S.Mironov, "Days of Azerbaijan" will be celebrated in the Federation Council and State Duma in May, and the matter of preparation to this celebration will also be discussed.
 
S.Mironov will discuss the issue concerning the participation of Azerbaijan in economical forum to be held in St. Petersburg with Prime Minister Arthur Rasizadeh. Expressing opinion on the initiative of giving the name of hero city to Baku, S.Mironov stated that he supports the initiative: "Everyone knows that, the majority of the tanks and aircrafts were supplied by the oil of Azerbaijan during the War. More than million soldiers were cured in the hospitals of Baku.420 thousand out of 700 thousand Azerbaijanis didn't come back. About 150 of them got the name of  Hero of Soviet Union .General Hazi Aslanov got this name for two times."

Yesterday S.Mironov held meeting with the chairman of Milli Majlis Murtuz Aleskerov and Prime Minister Arthur Rasizadeh. He met the participants of the World War II tomorrow in the Embassy of Russia.

The delegation led by S.Mironov includes 9 parliamentarians, as well as member of the Committee on Law and Court Matters of Federal Council Ferhad Ahmadov who is Azerbaijani in origin, two associates of MFA of Russia and 9 Russian journalists.
