Statoil probably to participate in construction of Aktau-Baku pipeline within BTC project

According to Rettedal, they will consider several options on the transportation of the Kazakh hydrocarbons from Actau to Baku after signing of the agreement on Kazakhstans’ joining the BTC project. The Statoil Company is ready to participate in the work on construction of the pipeline through the bottom of the Caspian Sea,” he added.

Besides, he underlined that the company holds a special up-to-date vessel and able to lay the pipes both on the seabed and surface. There is also a mini-plant manufacturing pipes on the vessel.
 
Rettedal noted that the Statoil Company holds 8.71 of shares in the BTC export project.

The BTC, which was put into exploitation in 2005, will allow the participants of the project to export 1m barrel oil in a day.
