Ilona Bruvere's documentary "Tapieris" (2014) has been screened at Baku International Piano Festival.

Latvian Charge d'Affaires in Azerbaijan Vija Busa and the film critic, curator of the festival's cinema program Ulvi Mehdi briefed the attendees about Latvian composer Oscar Strock, Azernews reports.

Latvian composer's music pieces sounded before the start of the film screening.

The film "Tapieris" tells about pianist-melodist and arranger Oscar Strock, who became famous in Europe thanks to his tango music.

Glory was ahead of him so much that his music was performed more than the author himself was known by sight. It happened because of excessive modesty, dramatic twists and turns.

The maestro's life was demonstrated as a film-play with endless travels, stormy romances in search of oneself through the historical and political context of the 20th century.

He did not shy away from any earnings, playing in pubs, taverns and cinemas across Riga, Berlin and Paris.

The documentary aroused great interest among viewers.

The Baku International Piano Festival is not only the magical playing of piano and keyboard virtuosos, it is, first of all, a luxurious atmosphere that will inspire and enchant the most demanding music lovers, giving vivid emotions.

The festival's program included concert programs for all music tastes: rock, classical, jazz, pop, flamenco, and even tango.
